Elena & Vadim

A love story that began with two neighboring seats on a plane

From a chance meeting and a first date to a wedding, the birth of a child and a family story spanning years.

Sometimes the most important meetings happen completely by chance. When Elena and Vadim met, Elena was 45 and Vadim was 50. Each already had a story of their own: marriage, divorce, children, an established career and a settled adult life.

Both held executive positions, and one day they simply ended up on the same flight. Their business-class seats were next to each other.

They started talking. It quickly turned out that two complete strangers had a remarkable amount in common. One topic led to the next, neither wanted the conversation to end, and the feeling of a chance encounter gradually faded. Vadim later told us that he felt that special connection almost immediately. In his words, they fell in love at first sight.

The first date had to be special

Back home, Vadim began thinking about their first real date. He looked at restaurants and unusual places, considered different options, but each time realized none of them felt right. He didn’t want to simply book a nice table.

After such an unusual meeting, the first date had to be an event too — an evening Elena would remember for the rest of her life. That was the request Vadim brought to Romantic Life the first time he contacted us.

The task was both simple and challenging: create a first date that could never be mistaken for any other.

A first date in a real castle

We suggested skipping the classic restaurant and organizing a private date for Elena and Vadim in a fairytale castle. Elena had no idea what was waiting for her. We prepared the space, the atmosphere and the music, and planned the evening so that its highlight would be Vadim’s declaration of love.

A fairytale castle

Live music

Fire letters

A declaration of love

At just the right moment, as the music played, fire letters spelling out a declaration of love lit up. It was there, on their first date, that Vadim openly told Elena about his feelings for the first time. And Elena felt the same.

It might seem our work was done. But in fact, this story was only just beginning.

When surprises became their tradition

After their first date, Elena secretly saved Romantic Life’s contact details. Now she wanted to surprise him. And so, little by little, the couple created a tradition of their own: every now and then, arranging completely unexpected dates for each other.

And the surprises went both ways. One time Vadim would contact us and ask us to come up with something for Elena. The next time, Elena would get in touch so that Vadim suspected nothing. And each time, we wanted to create something new.

Over the years of their relationship, we’ve created dates and experiences for them:

  • on yachts;
  • during helicopter rides;
  • at wineries;
  • on panoramic terraces;
  • while traveling;
  • in unusual private locations.

The places and scenarios changed, but one idea stayed the same: never stop surprising the person you love.

And one day they wrote to us: “We’ve decided to get married”

Some time later, Elena and Vadim reached out to Romantic Life again. But this time it wasn’t about another date. They had decided to get married.

And it meant a lot to us to realize that Vadim once came to us asking for help planning their first date, and now the same couple was trusting us to organize their wedding.

For the wedding day, we designed an elaborate scenario across several spaces. The celebration began on a yacht. That’s where the guests’ welcome took place and the first part of the wedding story unfolded.

After the cruise, the guests headed to a historic tower, rented exclusively to continue the celebration. So instead of a classic wedding in a single venue, it became a whole day’s journey — with water, beautiful views, changing scenery and a storyline of its own.

From romantic dates to family celebrations

But the wedding wasn’t the final chapter either. When Elena was 48, they welcomed a child together.

And as their life changed, so did the events we created for them. First there were dates and romantic surprises. Then the wedding. And over time came children’s parties, family celebrations and trips.

Elena and Vadim still turn to Romantic Life to this day. And for us, that may be one of the most meaningful parts of this story.

One story. Many years. Dozens of memories.

We often meet a client when they need to organize just one special evening. But sometimes that evening becomes the start of a very long journey.

For us, Elena and Vadim’s story began with one request: “Help me come up with an unusual first date.”

Back then, we didn’t yet know that ahead lay a declaration of love, dozens of surprises for each other, yachts, helicopters, wineries, trips, a wedding, the birth of a child, and a very different kind of celebration — family ones.

Years have passed. The events we organize for them have changed. But the most important thing hasn’t: their desire to keep surprising each other.
