They came to Barcelona for different reasons. And found each other.
A chance meeting over lunch, a special first date above the city, and a story that may soon have a new chapter.
Sometimes people come to a new city for work. Sometimes to learn a new language. And sometimes the city quietly changes both their plans. Tyler came from the US to learn Spanish. Miguel came from Brazil to build his career as an architect.
Two tables for one
Tyler and Miguel walked into the same restaurant. Separately. Each of them was simply planning to have lunch alone.
But at some point they noticed each other. One of them found the courage to go over first — and instead of two separate lunches, there was one long conversation.
Almost immediately, they felt that rare sense of how easy it is to be with someone. The chance meeting gradually turned into something much more serious.
“I’ve never organized anything like this before”
When Tyler reached out to Romantic Life, he had one goal: to truly surprise Miguel. But he had never planned a romantic surprise before and was very nervous.
Will he like it? What should I say? How do I get him there without him suspecting anything?
Our job wasn’t just to come up with a beautiful date. We also had to help Tyler stop worrying and simply enjoy the evening himself.

We suggested a date above the city to Tyler, at the Mirador Torre Glòries panoramic viewpoint. Inside that vast space, we created a little world of their own for Tyler and Miguel.

An evening they didn’t want to end
Once they were up at the top, all of Tyler’s nerves disappeared. They didn’t need an elaborate program. They sat across from each other, talked, listened to live music and looked out over the city. And when their time was up, they extended the evening.
Sometimes that’s exactly the best result of our work. Not the amount of decor. Not the most elaborate scenario. But a moment someone simply doesn’t want to end.
After that evening, we stayed in touch with Tyler. Only now, his thoughts aren’t on the next date anymore. Together with him, we’re starting to plan a new story. This time, a marriage proposal.
