The date she didn’t show up to at first 🥊
Roman wanted to make up with the woman he loved and came up with a date that would be impossible to forget: a real boxing ring on a rooftop, flowers, dinner, live music, a horse-drawn carriage and… a giant raccoon. 🦝
But on the way there the couple had a fight 🌩️, and Anastasia got out of the carriage. Roman arrived at the rooftop alone, where that very raccoon was already waiting for him at the table. The evening seemed ruined. 💔 But this story had a completely different ending.

The date that almost didn’t happen 😅
A boxing ring on a rooftop, a carriage, live music, one very big raccoon 🦝 and a romantic evening that almost ended before it began. 🎬
Not every love story looks like a beautiful movie. 🍿 Sometimes people fall in love, fight, make up, fight again and still want to surprise each other.
Roman and Anastasia’s story was exactly like that. At some point a few conflicts had built up in their relationship, and Roman decided that instead of yet another talk, he wanted to do something completely unexpected for Anastasia. 🎁
That’s how he came to us with the idea of a date. Although the word “date” quickly stopped describing what he had in mind.
“I need a rooftop. And on it, a real boxing ring 🥊”
Roman knew Anastasia well. She loved beautiful views and she boxed. So an ordinary rooftop dinner just wasn’t enough for him.
He wanted to set up a real boxing ring right on the rooftop, turn it into a romantic space and lay the table inside it. 🍽️
The ring was to have flowers 🌹, candles 🕯️ and a beautiful table setting. Nearby, a waiter. 🤵 For the couple, live music. 🎷 All around, a panorama of the city. 🌆 Unusual? Definitely. But Roman’s brief didn’t end there.
🦝 “And I need a raccoon too”
Anastasia had a special love for raccoons. 🥰 So Roman decided that the perfect date simply had to include one. And not a small one, either. A real, fully grown and, as it turned out later, rather well-fed raccoon weighing over twenty kilos. 😳
The task was now officially far from standard. We had to find the right rooftop, bring up and install a mobile boxing ring, decorate it with flowers and organize everything else. 📋
And Roman wanted the start of the date to be even more special: a horse-drawn carriage would pick the couple up. 🐴 It seemed we had thought of everything. Almost.
But only Roman made it to the date
The carriage arrived for the couple. Roman and Anastasia got in and set off for the prepared rooftop. And somewhere along the way… they had a fight. ⛈️
So much so that Anastasia got out of the carriage and refused to go any further.
And Roman carried on alone.
Meanwhile, everything on the rooftop was ready. The boxing ring stood decorated with flowers. The musician was playing. 🎻 The waiter was waiting. 🍾 The table was set. And at that table, on a chair of its own, sat that giant raccoon. 🐾
Only Anastasia wasn’t there. 🥀
Dinner for two: Roman and the raccoon 🍽️🦝
This is probably one of the most surreal moments in the entire history of Romantic Life. 🫠
Roman went up to the rooftop, saw the fully prepared date and realized that the person it was all created for hadn’t come. 💔 He sat down at the table. Next to him sat the raccoon. Roman poured himself a drink 🥃 and after a while began telling his new companion what had happened on the way.
The raccoon, as far as we could tell, turned out to be an excellent listener. 🐾 But at some point even its support wasn’t enough for Roman.
He came over to our organizer and said something like this: “I know this situation is strange. But you have to save my celebration. Please, call her. Tell her anything. Just get her to come.” 🆘 And that’s where a completely different part of our job began.
Operation “Bring Anastasia Back”
Our organizer called Anastasia. It wasn’t the easiest conversation. But in the end we managed to convince her to at least come and see what Roman had prepared for her.
Anastasia agreed. She went up to the rooftop. She saw the ring. She saw Roman. And they made up… But not right away.
Another emotional conversation took place in the ring. So emotional that Roman even got slapped. It seemed the boxing theme of the date was taking on a slightly more literal meaning than originally planned. 🥊🤕
And then Anastasia saw it. The raccoon. 🦝✨
And then everything changed ✨
Anastasia went over to the raccoon. She began stroking and hugging it. 🤗 The tension slowly melted away. ☁️
Then she and Roman were finally able to talk calmly. They realized that much of the conflict had been a misunderstanding. They made up.
And the date that a few hours earlier had seemed a complete failure happened after all. What’s more, the couple stayed on the rooftop almost all night. 🌃 They talked, had dinner, listened to music and spent time together.
And beside them stayed that very raccoon, who unexpectedly became the evening’s chief peacemaker. 🕊️🦝
The raccoon that became a family symbol
And the story didn’t end there either. After that date, Roman and Anastasia came back to Romantic Life many more times. We organized new surprises for them: dates on the water 🚤, unusual locations 🏰 and other romantic experiences.
But almost every time, the couple had one special request: “Will our raccoon be there?” 🐾
That raccoon gradually became their very own symbol. 💍 A reminder of the evening that began with a serious fight, continued with Roman having dinner with a raccoon, and ended with two people making up on a rooftop. And perhaps that’s one of the reasons we still remember this story. 🖼️
Not every perfect date goes perfectly
Over the years we’ve learned one thing. You can prepare the most beautiful location. You can install a boxing ring on a rooftop. You can find a musician, a waiter, flowers and even a raccoon. But real people don’t live by a script.
They can be late. ⏰ Change their minds. 🤷♀️ Fight on the way. 🌩️ Or not even show up to their own date. 🙈 And then a good organizer’s job is no longer just to follow a pre-written plan. Sometimes you have to save the story as it unfolds. 🦸♂️
For Roman and Anastasia, nothing went according to plan. And that’s exactly why, years later, this story is impossible to forget. 🏆
